Framingham State Women’s Soccer Falls 1-0 To Start 2014 Campaign

Framingham, Mass. – The Rams drop their 2014 season opener by a score of 1-0 with non-conference opponent Keene St. on Tuesday afternoon at the Maple Street field.

Keene State's Taylor Farland scored the lone goal of the game. In the 65th minute a Framingham foul set up a direct kick from approximately 25 yards out. Farland sent a well-placed strike, passed the diving goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

The Rams best scoring chance was just moments prior to the Owl's goal. In the 63rd minute Framingham's Marisa Parent (Revere, MA) had a one-time opportunity off a cross from the left. Parent's shot was saved by Owl's keeper Victoria Crenson.

The Owls outshot the Rams 10 to 7. In the process Keene St. committed 16 fouls to the Rams 12.

Sara Sullivan (Quincy, MA/ North Quincy) made 3 saves and allowed one goal in net for the Rams. Victoria Crenson made 3 saves on her way to her first shutout of the season for the Owls.

Framingham State returns to action on Saturday, September 6th with a non-conference matchup with Clark (Mass.) slated for 10 a.m.
