Fitchburg, Mass. – Sophomore Marisa Parent (Revere, Mass.) registered a pair of goals to lift the Framingham State University women's soccer team past Fitchburg State University, 3-1 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this afternoon at Elliot Field.

Framingham State opened the scoring midway through the first half, as junior Kayla Austin (Winchester, Mass.) sent a free kick from 25 yards out to Parent, who tucked the ball inside the far post for the 1-0 lead.

The Rams doubled their lead (2-0) less than a minute later, when Austin collected a loose ball in front of the net and fired a shot into the right corner for her seventh marker season. The Black and Gold capped their scoring in the 44th minute of play as Parent notched her second score of the game. The sophomore forward gathered the ball off her own rebound and deposited it into the back of the net for the 3-0 advantage heading into the break.

Following intermission, Fitchburg State broke its scoring silence at the 68:49 mark, when junior Rachel Jamieson (Foxboro, Mass.) received a feed from freshman Nicole Perez (Jamestown, R.I.) off an indirect kick just outside the box and blasted a shot into the upper left corner resulting in the 3-1 final.
