Women's Soccer Downs Wheelock, 3-0

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State College women's soccer team defeated the visiting Wildcats of Wheelock College 3-0 today at Maple Street Field.  With the win, the Rams improve to 5-8-1 on the season, while the Wildcats fall to 4-13.

Today was Senior Day for the Rams and their lone senior midfielder Carolyn Reinstein (Ashland, MA) had an outstanding final home game in a Ram uniform.  Reinstein finished the day with two goals including the game winner.  Reinstein put the Rams up 1-0 in the 13th minute of play as she took a pass from junior Silvana Ortiz (Stoneham, MA) and fired a rocket from 35 yards out that sailed over the Wildcats keeper's head.

The Rams would extend their lead to 2-0 late in the first half as freshman Mackenzi Haig (New Ashford, MA) scored her first collegiate goal.  Fellow freshman Mallory Collins (Marston Mills, MA) assisted on the goal.  Reinstein would finish the scoring in the 50th minute as she collected a pass from sophomore Christine Celozzi (Milford, MA) and launched another rocket from 30 yards out.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Nichols College for a 7 p.m. game, while the Wildcats travel to Pine Manor College for a 3 p.m. game on Wednesday.
