Women's Lacrosse Sails Past Western New England 15-10

Panama City Beach, Fla. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse led after the first period and never looked back as the Rams defeated Western New England 15-10 this morning in non-conference action at The Spring Fling.   

THE BASICS:

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • After falling behind 1-0 just under three minutes into the game, the Rams rattled off the next three goals of the game – all from Hannah Guerin – to lead 3-1 with just over four to play in the frame. The Golden Bears added a goal in the closing seconds making the score 3-2 after one. 

  • Western New England scored the first two of the second taking a 4-3 lead, but the Rams used a 5-0 run taking an 8-4 lead with just over two to play. WNE tallied the final two goals of the half and trailed 8-6 heading to the half. 

  • The Rams used a goal from Rachel Erickson midway through the third pushing the lead to 9-6, before a Golden Bear tally closed the gap to 9-7 with six to play in the period. Leah Green found the back of the net twice down the stretch and the Rams led 11-7 after three. 

  • The two teams traded goals to start the fourth, but three straight from the Rams pushed the lead to 15-8 with three to play. The Golden Bears added two goals late to reach the final margin. 

  • Isabella DiMare earned the victory in net making six saves., while Guerin finished the game with five goals and three assists. 

  • Brandi Core finished the day with three tallies, while Green finished with three goals and an assist.
