Strong Second Half Propels Women's Lacrosse Past Johnson & Wales

Providence, RI - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse outscored the Wildcats 13-2 in the second half as the Rams broke open a 5-5 game to secure an 18-7 victory over Johnson and Wales this afternoon in non-conference action at SMAC.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period with Rachel Erickson scoring twice and Molly Lanier adding one. 

  • The Rams pushed the lead to 4-0 when Hannah Guerin converted a free position shot just under four minutes into the second. Johnson & Wales tallied the next five goals of the game to take the lead, but an Erickson tally in the final two minutes tied the game 5-5 at the half. 

  • The Rams erupted for six goals in the third taking control of the game. Erickson got the Rams going and Leah Green added three markers in the frame. 

  • After trading goals to start the final period, the Rams rattled off four straight pushing the lead to double digits. 

  • Green finished the game with six goals and two assists for the Rams, while Guerin finished the day with four goals and four helpers. 

  • Erickson finished the game with five tallies, while Isabella DiMare earned the victory in the net making nine saves.
