Women's Lacrosse Holds Off Plymouth State for 12-10 Victory

Plymouth, NH - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse picked up their first victory of the season holding off a late charge from Plymouth State as the Rams secured a 12-10 victory this afternoon in non-conference action at Panther Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams took a 5-1 lead after the opening period with Leah Green and Hannah Guerin tallying two goals apiece in the frame. 

  • A Juli Guzi goal just under two minutes into the second period extended the Rams lead to 6-1, but the Panthers countered with two straight closing the gap to 6-3 with 7:10 remaining. The Rams closed the period scoring three straight goals including two more from Green pushing the lead to 9-3 at the half. 

  • In the opening minute of the third, Regan Fein's marker gave the Rams the 10-3 lead. Plymouth State scored the final four goals of the period and trailed 10-7 after three. 

  • Plymouth started the final quarter with back-to-back goals cutting the deficit to 10-9, but the Rams used a goal from Rachel Erickson to push the lead back to two with just over six to play. Guerin gave the Rams a three goal lead with a tally with just over two minutes to go in the game. Plymouth State added a free position goal with 1:42 to play to reach the final margin. 

  •  Green finished the game with four goals for the Rams, while Guerin finished the day with four goals and three assists. Erickson found the back of the net twice, while Fein finished the game with a goal and two helpers. 

  • Isabella DiMare earned the victory in net and made 10 saves.
