Endicott Shoots Past Women’s Lacrosse 14-11

Beverly, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse led early, but a strong second period propelled Endicott College to a 14-11 victory over the Rams this afternoon in non-conference action at Hempstead Stadium.   

THE BASICS:

- Records: Framingham State (0-2), Endicott (2-2) 

- Location: Hempstead Stadium Beverly, Mass.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Gulls jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the opening minute of the game, but the Rams tallied the next four goals to lead 4-1 midway through the quarter. Regan Fein found the back of the net twice and Molly Lanier and Hannah Guerin each scored once. 

  • Endicott responded with three straight of their own tying the game 4-4 with just under six to go in the stanza. Fein and Guerin struck again for the Rams pushing the lead to 6-4, but the Gulls closed the frame with a marker making the score 6-5 after one. 

  • Neither team found the back of net in the opening nine minutes of the second, but Endicott tied the game on a goal from Emerson Clark with just under six to play. The Rams retook the lead on a Rachel Erickson tally, but the Gulls scored the final two of the frame to lead 8-7 at the half. 

  • Endicott tallied the first two goals of the third period before Guerin converted a free position shot closing the gap to 10-8 with nine to play. Endicott pushed the lead back to three, but Guerin added her second of the period pulling the Rams within two, 11-9, after three. 

  • Endicott pushed the advantage to 14-9 in the fourth, but Leah Green and Guerin tallied late goals for the Rams to reach the final margin. 

  • Guerin finished the game with five goals and an assist for the Rams, while Fein finished with three goals and a helper. 

  • Isabella DiMare took the loss in net for the Rams but made 13 saves.  

  • Endicott held a slim 31-26 edge in shots, while the Rams held the advantage grabbing 15 draw controls to 14 for the Gulls.
