Women's Lacrosse Advances to MASCAC Semifinals with 21-3 Victory over Fitchburg State

Framingham, Mass. - The third seed Framingham State University women's lacrosse team saw 10 players tally goals as the Rams defeated sixth seed Fitchburg State 21-3 this evening in one quarter final of 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament at Maple Street Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams jumped out to a 2-0 lead after goals from Leah Green and Regan Fein. The Falcons cut the deficit in half on a tally from Eva Kozikowski with just under 12 to play in the first.  

  • The Rams closed the first quarter with nine straight goals including four from Green and three from Molly Lanier opening up an 11-1 lead after one.  

  • The Rams extended the lead to 17-1 at the half after outscoring the Falcons 7-0 in the second. Framingham State maintained the sizable lead throughout the second half and earned the victory to advance in the tournament. 

  • Green paced the Rams with five goals, while Lanier finished the night with four goals and an assist. 

  • Fein and Hailey Baker finished the game with two goals and two assists apiece, while Hannah Guerin finished the night with two goals and three assists. 

  • Kelley DeBellis chipped in with two goals, while Alessia Lye, Maggie Grout, Madison Skiff and Elizabeth Dollard all scored one and Rachel Erickson chipped in with three assists. 

  • The Falcons received a goal and an assist from Kozikowski, while Jessica St. George and Abaigeal Gilman each found the back of the net once. 

  • Alexis Burleigh and Isabella DiMare combined to make four saves in net for the Rams, while Alyson Cote made three stops for the Falcons. 

 

UP NEXT: 

With the win, the Rams advance to the semifinals where they will face second-seeded Bridgewater State on Thursday night in Bridgewater at 7 p.m.
