Women’s Lacrosse Cruises Past Mass. Maritime

Buzzards Bay, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team received a combined 10 goals from Hannah Guerin and Hailey Baker as the Rams defeated Mass. Maritime 15-8 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Clean Harbors Stadium. 

THE BASICS:

-Records: Framingham State (10-6, 5-1 MASCAC), Mass. Maritime (4-10, 1-5 MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The two teams traded goals to start the game before the Rams closed the opening quarter with a 4-0 run to lead 5-1 after one. 

  • Mass. Maritime closed the gap to one (5-4) with just under four minutes to play in the second, but the Rams once again closed the quarter with four straight to lead 9-4 at the half. 

  • No one could find the back of the net for the first 11 minutes of the third quarter, but the Rams received goals from Baker and Guerin to push the lead to 11-4 with just over two to play. The Bucs added a goal later to close the gap to 11-5 after three. 

  • The two teams traded goals to start the third, but the Rams used three straight including one from Baker and two from Guerin to push the lead to 15-7. Mass. Maritime added a final goal in the closing minute to reach the final margin. 

  • Guerin paced the Rams with six goals and an assist, while Baker finished the night with four goals and an assist. 

  • Rachel Erickson and Regan Fein finished with two goals and two assists apiece. 

  • Alexis Burleigh earned the win in net making three saves in a half of action. Isabella DiMare made six stops in her half of work.
