Guerin Named Player of the Year as Women's Lacrosse Lands Six on All-MASCAC Teams

Framingham, Mass. – Sophomore attack Hannah Guerin (Cumberland, RI) has been selected the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year as the Rams landed six players on the 2022 All-MASCAC women's lacrosse teams in voting conducted by the league's coaches and announced by the conference this afternoon. 

Joining Guerin as first team All-MASCAC selections are sophomore midfielder Regan Fein (North Attleboro, Mass.) and senior defender Devon DeMeo (Waltham, Mass.) 

Second Team selections for the Rams include senior attack Tara Palermo (Mashpee, Mass.), freshman midfielder Kathryn Simpson (Littleton, Mass.) and freshman defender Maggie Grout (West Springfield, Mass.). 

Guerin finished the season ranked first in the league in points on the year with 88. Guerin ranked second in goals with 59 and fourth in assists with 29 on the year.  Fein finished the season leading the MASCAC with 41 assists on the season.  She also tallied 25 goals with 55 draw controls and 16 caused turnovers.  DeMeo anchored the Rams defense with 31 ground balls, 15 caused turnovers and a pair of goals. 

Palermo finished the season second on the team in points with 68 and tallied 47 goals with 21 helpers. She added 24 ground balls and 58 draw controls with 13 caused turnovers.  Simpson had a solid first season for the Rams with 18 goals and nine assists to go along with 49 ground balls, 86 draw controls and 27 caused turnovers.  Grout earns her first all-conference honors after picking up 29 ground balls with 13 caused turnovers and three assists. 

The 2022 Rams finished the season 11-7 overall and 6-1 in the MASCAC. The Rams earned the second seed in the MASCAC Tournament and defeated fourth seed Bridgewater State in the finals earning the league's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.
