Women's Lacrosse Falls 18-11 at Babson

Babson Park, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team was defeated by Babson College 18-11  non-conference contest this afternoon at MacDowell Field.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score: Babson 18, Framingham State 11 

- Records: Framingham State (2-5), Babson (4-4) 

- Location: Babson Park, Mass. – MacDowell Field 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Babson jumped out to a 2-0 lead just over five minutes into the game, but Madison Skiff scored an unassisted tally cutting the deficit to 2-1 with just over six left in the first. 

  • The Beavers closed the quarter with a pair of goals and led 5-1 after one. 

  • Hannah Guerin converted a free position shot for the Rams to open the second quarter and cut the lead down to 5-2. 

  • After back-to-back goals from the Beavers, Tara Palermo scored unassisted for the Rams, but the Beavers closed the half with straight and led 11-3 at the intermissions. 

  • Babson scored three of the first four goals in the third quarter and led 14-4 with just over six on the clock. 

  • The Rams closed the frame with a 3-1 run to cut the gap to 15-7 after three. Leah Green struck first for the Rams and Haley Wood and Kyra Lyons closed the quarter with unassisted goals. 

  • Babson maintained the lead throughout the fourth to secure the victory.   

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

  • Green finished the game with three goals for the Rams, while Hailey Baker finished with a pair of markers. 

  • Palermo finished the game with a goal and two assists. 

  • The Beavers received four goals from Courtney Kaskey and three from Claudia Dodge. 

  • Alexis Burleigh made 10 saves for the Rams, while Kathleen Murphy made 13 for the Beavers.

The Rams are back in action on Friday when they open MASCAC action hosting Salem State at 6 p.m.
