Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team was defeated 15-12 by Endicott College in a tightly contested non-conference contest this afternoon at Maple Street Field.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score: Endicott 15, Framingham State 12 

- Records:  Framingham State (2-4), Endicott (4-2) 

- Location:  Framingham, Mass. – Maple Street Field 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Rams got on the board first when they took the game's opening draw and went right down the field and scored when Leah Green connected on a Madison Skiff assist. 

  • Endicott tied the game with just over 10 minutes to go in the first when Alex Palermo converted off a feed from Jaira Paine. 

  • The two teams would trade goals down the stretch in the first and the game was tied 3-3 after one. 

  • In the second, Endicott got on the board first and took a 4-3 lead on a Carly Pierce goal just over a minute into the quarter. 

  • The Rams answered with two straight taking a 5-4 lead on a Tara Palermo goal with just over 10 on the clock. 

  • Endicott tied the game on a Morgan Pike tally, but the Rams' Rachel Erickson scored with just under seven to play giving the Rams a 6-5 lead after two. 

  • The Gulls opened the third quarter with back-to-back goals and led 7-6 with 11:02 on the clock. 

  • The Rams tied the game a minute later on an unassisted goal by Erickson, but the Gulls responded with a 3-0 run taking a 10-7 lead after three. 

  • The Rams opened the fourth with a goal from Palermo cutting the deficit to 10-8 two minutes into the frame, but Endicott responded with back-to-back goals from Gabriella Prisco and Gilly Hartt taking their largest lead of the game, 12-8. 

  • The Rams pulled within three on a pair of occasions including on a Regan Fein tally with 2:06 left in the game, but that was as close as they would get as Endicott held on for the victory.   

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

  • The Rams received three goals apiece in the game from Green and Erickson, while Palermo finished the game with three goals of her own and added an assist. 

  • Skiff finished the game with four helpers, while Fein tallied a pair of goals and added two assists. 

  • The Gulls received four goals and an assist from Morgan Pike, while Pierce finished the game with three markers and a helper. 

  • Katy Garvin finished the game with two goals and three assists, while Alex Palermo aded a goal and two helpers. 

  • Alexis Burleigh made 12 stops for the Rams, while Lydia Akins earned the win in net for the Gulls and made seven stops.
