Women’s Lacrosse Predicted to Finish Third in MASCAC Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State women's lacrosse team has been predicted to finish third in the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Preseason poll as voted on by the coaches from around the league. 

The Rams received 36 points in the poll after capturing a share of the 2021 MASCAC Regular Season Title finishing with a 8-2 record overall and 3-1 mark in league play in the abbreviated 2021 season.  

All-Conference attack Tara Palermo returns for the Rams after netting 29 goals with five assists for 34 points while collecting 31 draw controls, 13 ground balls and causing six turnovers.  

The Rams will also look to sophomore Hannah Guerin who after an outstanding freshman season earned her first All-MASCAC honors and Co-Rookie of the Year honors.  Guerin tallied 28 goals with 15 assists for 43 points and finished the season ranked second in league in points and assists and fourth in goals. 

The 2021 MASCAC Tournament Champions, Westfield State earned seven first place votes for 49 points to lead this year's poll. Sitting in second place is Worcester State with the final first place vote for 41 points. Framingham State is in the third spot with 36 points followed by Bridgewater State grabbing the fourth spot with 34 total points. Next in fifth and sixth are Massachusetts Maritime and Fitchburg State with 25 points and 17 points, respectively. Rounding out the 2022 poll in seventh and eighth are Salem State and MCLA with 15 and seven points, respectively.  

The Rams start the 2022 campaign under the direction of first year head coach Devyne Doran on Wednesday, February 23rd when they host Wellesley College in non-conference action.
