Women’s Lacrosse Place Third in MASCAC Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State women's lacrosse program has been selected to finish third in the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) as voted on by the coaches from around the league.

Framingham State received 36 points after going 5-2 in conference play last season. Returning for FSU is reigning MASCAC Rookie of the Year Grace Gamache (Darmouth, Mass.) who was second in the league last season in goals scored with 48 while adding six assists, 40 draw controls, 18 ground balls and five caused turnovers to earn All-Conference accolades.

The reigning MASCAC Tournament Champions Westfield State received six first place votes for 48 points in this year's poll. Bridgewater State is next in second with two first place votes for 43 points. After the Rams with 36 points is Fitchburg State who collected 31 points for fourth place. Next, in the fifth and sixth slots are Worcester State and Salem State with 25 points and 21 points, respectively. Closing out the 2018 poll in seventh and eighth place are Massachusetts Maritime and MCLA with 11 and nine points, respectively.

The Rams are set to open their 2018 campaign on Wednesday, February 28th when they travel to Regis for non-conference action slated for 4:00 p.m.
