Gamache Named MASCAC Rookie of the Year as Women’s Lacrosse Lands Five on All-MASCAC Teams

Framingham, Mass. – Freshman attack Grace Gamache (Dartmouth, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year as the Rams saw four players honored with selection to the All-MASCAC Teams.  

Gamache and junior midfielder Kimmy Foley (Mansfield, Mass.) earned first team honors, while freshman Nicole Pacheco (Woburn, Mass.), junior Mallory Fredericks (Templeton, Mass.) and sophomore Indigo Fox Tree-McGrath (Bedford, Mass.) earned second team honors.

Gamache had an outstanding rookie season collecting a team-best 48 goals with six assists in just 13 games.  Gamache tallied 54 total points with 18 ground balls, 40 draw controls and five caused turnovers.

Foley repeats as a first team All-MASCAC honoree after scoring a team-best 56 points on the year. Foley tallied 37 goals with 19 assists to go along with 54 ground balls, 46 draw controls and 22 caused turnovers.

Pacheco earns her first All-MASCAC honors after tallying 33 goals and 11 assist in her rookie season, while Fox Tree-McGrath also earns her first All-MASCAC honors.  Fox Tree-McGrath played every minute in goal for the Rams this season and compiled a 12-7 record with a 7.47 goals against average.  Fredericks anchored the Rams defense 34 ground balls, 48 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers.

The 2017 women's lacrosse team won a school record 12 games and advanced the MASCAC Tournament semifinals.
