Women's Lacrosse Opens Southern Swing with 15-7 Win over Oglethorpe

Atlanta, Ga. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team opened their spring break trip this afternoon with a 15-7 victory over Oglethorpe University in the first meeting between the two schools at Oglethorpe Field.

With the win the Rams are now 3-0 on the season, while Oglethorpe evens their season mark at 4-4.

The Rams received three goals from junior Kimmy Foley (Mansfield, Mass.) and junior Kristen Keenan (Methuen, Mass.) and two goals apiece from senior Lindsay Nixon (Woburn, Mass.) and freshman Rylee Holmes (Hanson, Mass.).  Nixon and Keenan each added single assists for the Rams, while sophomore Bailey Donelly (Framingham, Mass.) and freshman Casey Bradley (Canton, Mass.) added two assists apiece.

Foley and Riley put the Rams up 2-0 just under eight minutes into the first half before Oglethorpe got on the board cutting the lead to 2-1.

The Rams rattled off a 6-0 run including a pair from Keenan to take an 8-1 advantage.  Oglethorpe added two more in the final two minutes of the half sending the game to the break with the Rams leading 8-3.

Sophomore Indigo Fox Tree-McGrath (Bedford, Mass.) earned her third victory of the season in net making a pair of saves.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday at Reinhardt at 4 p.m.
