Hilton Head, S.C. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team was defeated this afternoon 8-6 by Transylvania in Hilton Head.

With the loss, the Rams are now 2-1 on the year.  Transylvania jumped out to a 4-0 lead midway through the first half, but the Rams countered with a pair of goals to cut the deficit in half.  Kristen Hoggins struck first at 10:19 and two minutes later Kimmy Foley found the back of the net. Transylvania added another to push the lead back to three, but Morghan Casella found the back of the net unassisted in the closing minute of the first.

Transylvania scored the first two goals of the second stanza, but the Rams scored three straight to pull within on (7-6) with just over 15 minutes remaining.  Transylvania added an insurance goal just ahead of the 10 minute mark to reach the final margin.

The Rams are back in action on Thursday in Hilton Head when they face Massachusetts rival Nichols College at 11 a.m.
