Women's Lacrosse Downs Elms

Chicopee, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team wrapped up the non-conference portion of their schedule this evening with an 18-2 road victory over Elms College at Leary Field.

With the win, the Rams improve to 9-6 on the year with one regular season game remaining while the Blazers fall to 6-6 on the season.

After falling behind 1-0 just seven second into the game, the Rams rattled off seven straight goals to take a commanding 7-1 lead with just over 12 minutes remaining in the half. The Blazers cut into the deficit with a goal with just over three on the clock, but that was as close as they would get as the Rams held them scoreless in the second half.  The Rams tacked on 11 goals in the second to reach the final margin.

Sophomore Kristen Hoggins paced the Rams with five goals, while junior Stephanie Leonard (Framingham, Mass.) chipped in with four.

The Rams held a 30-7 advantage in shots. Junior Alysha Cericola (Waltham, Mass.) made two saves en route to the victory between the pipes.

The Rams close out the regular season on Saturday morning when they host MASCAC leader Westfield State University at 10:30 a.m.
