Strong Second Half Leads Fitchburg State Past Women's Lacrosse

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team received eight goals from senior Zoe Reilly (Boyertown, PA) as the Rams were edged 14-11 this evening by Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this evening.

The loss drops the Rams to 7-4 on the season and 2-2 in the conference, while the Falcons improve to 11-2 on the year and are now 3-1 in the MASCAC.

The Rams opened up a4-2 lead with 11 minutes remaining in the first half thanks to three goals from Reilly and one from sophomore Kristen Hoggins (Harvard, Mass.).  The Rams maintained the lead throughout the first half before taking a 7-4 lead into the locker room.

The two teams traded goals to start the second half before Fitchburg State rattled off five in a row to take the lead for good.

The Rams held a 28-26 edge in shots for the game and a 26-21 lead in ground balls. Junior Alysha Cericola (Waltham, Mass.) suffered the loss in net despite making eight saves.

The Rams are back in action Thursday night when they host Nichols in a non-conference game beginning at 7 p.m.
