Strong Second Half Lifts Mount Ida to 12-8 Victory over Women's Lacrosse

Newton, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team was back in action this afternoon and was defeated 12-8 on the road by Mount Ida College in non-conference action. 

The Rams are now 0-2 on the young season after the loss, while the Mustangs improve their season mark to 2-5.

Senior Heather Masse (Billerica, Mass.) led the Rams offense with five goals, while classmate Chelsea Temple (Rutland, VT) added two and Kerri Robinson one.

The Rams took a 7-6 lead after the first half despite being outshot 18-10 in the half.  Masse tallied four of her five markers in the opening frame.

Mount Ida outscored the Rams 6-1 in the second half to secure the victory. The Mustangs scored six unanswered goals to open the frame and never looked back. Masse added the Rams lone tally in the second as she scored with under a minute remaining in the game.

The Mustangs outshot the Rams 42-15 in the game including a 24-5 edge in the second half.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday evening with a non-conference game at Rhode Island College.
