Women's Lacrosse Defeats Simmons 20-15

Boston, Mass. – Sophomore Kerry Kiley (Mansfield, Mass.) scored eight goals as the Framingham State College women’s lacrosse team defeated Simmons College 20-15 tonight at the Windsor School in Boston.  The Rams improve to 4-2 with the win and return to conference action on Wednesday as they host Worcester State at 4:30 p.m.

Kiley led all scorers with 10 points in the game on eight goals and two assists. Stephanie Corrales (Framingham, Mass.) added four goals and two assists, while senior captain Ashley Noonan (Mansfield, Mass.) chipped in four goals including the game winner and an assist.  Freshman Chelsea Temple (Rutland, VT) picked up three goals while classmate Brittany McLean (Walpole, Mass.) added a single goal.  Junior Melissa Price (Norwood, Mass.) chipped in two assists.

Leading 4-3 with just over 22 minutes remaining in the first half, the Rams scored the game’s next four goals including two from Kiley to open up an 8-3 lead.  The Rams extended their lead to 11-6 at the half and were able to maintain a five goal lead in the second half for the win.

Framingham State goalie Kelsey Turner (Billerica, Mass.) picked up her fourth win of the season as she made 16 saves and allowed 15 goals.
