Women’s Basketball Soars Past Fitchburg State 83-41

Fitchburg, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team received a combined 40 points from the duo of Kelsey Yelle and Flannery O'Connor as the Rams defeated Fitchburg State 83-41 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Parkinson Gym.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were paced by 20 points apiece from Yell and O'Connor. O'Connor connected on 10-of-16 from the floor and added eight boards, two assists, five steals and three blocks. Yelle connected on 9-of-15 with six boards and two steals. 

  • Michelle Moreno chipped in with eight points, four rebounds and two steals, while Gwendolyn Carpenter added seven points, six rebounds and nine assists. 

  • Katherine Haselton finished the night with seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, while Jenna Tavanese added six points off the bench. 

  • The Rams shot 42% from the floor in the game (34-82), while the Falcons shot just 24% (15-62). 

  • The Rams held a commanding 60-12 advantage in points in the paint and converted 26 Falcon turnovers into 33 points.
