Carpenter’s Triple-Double Sends Women’s Basketball Past Worcester

Framingham, Mass. Framingham State senior Gwendolyn Carpenter finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists as the Rams defeated Worcester State by a score of 83-55 in MASCAC action Saturday afternoon in Framingham.

- Records:  Framingham State (15-2, 4-1 MASCAC), Worcester State (2-16, 1-4 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Lancers led early but Carpenter converted a three-point play to give the Rams a lead they would never relinquish.  

  • Carpenter's triple-double led the way for the Rams. Flannery O'Connor scored 18 points with seven boards and a block. Chloe Rayko scored 16 going 3-for-5 from downtown while Kelsey Yelle chipped in 14 with seven rebounds.  

  • Worcester was paced by Lena Waldron and Cameron Watkins who scored 14 points each. Waldron earned a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.  

  • The Rams shot 47% from the field and 63% from long range. The Lancers shot 32% from the floor and 11% from downtown.  

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to the court on Wednesday, January 24thwhen they travel to the Fitchburg State for a 5pm MASCAC matchup. The Lancers will host MCLA on the same day at 5:30pm.
