Hot Start Propels Bridgewater State Past Women's Basketball

Bridgewater, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball trailed 23-11 after one quarter as they were defeated 56-47 this afternoon by Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Tinsley Center.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were paced in the game by a team-high 21 points from Gwendolyn Carpenter. Carpenter connected on 5-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 from behind arc to go along with four rebounds, two assists and a steal. 

  • Kelsey Yelle finished the day with nine points and seven boards with two assists and a steal, while Flannery O'Connor chipped in with five points and seven boards. 

  • The Bears saw three players record double figures led by 20 points and five rebounds from Kylie Grassi. 

  • Jordan Peebles chipped in with a double double of 12 points and 11 boards, while Arielle Cleveland finished the day with 10 points and five boards. 

  • The Rams struggled from the floor shooting just 22% from the field (11-51) and 24% from behind the arc, while the Bears connected on 37% of their shots from the field but went just 1-of-15 from behind the three point line.
