Carpenter Sets Career Assists Record as Women’s Basketball Caps off Perfect First Half

Milton, Mass. The Framingham State women's basketball team defeated Curry College by a score of 97-56 to head to the holiday break with a perfect 10-0 record.  

During the contest, senior point guard Gwendolyn Carpenter picked up her 466th career assist setting a new program record. The previous record was held by current Rams assistant coach Lauren Donahue with 465 from 2014-2018.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • Flannery O'Connor led the Rams with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting, grabbing nine rebounds adding two assists and two steals in just 20 minutes of play. 

  • Abigail Martin scored 20 points on an efficient 9-of-12 shooting, grabbing nine rebounds while Katherine Haselton provided a solid offensive contribution with 16 points, shooting 6-of-11 from the field, and added three rebounds and a steal. 

  • Carpenter had a game-high nine assists including the record breaker.  

  • Lauren Dunn led Curry in scoring with 13 points, also contributing seven rebounds, one steal, and one block. 

  • Kasey Reeves posted nine points and six rebounds and Samantha Conti contributed eleven points, four rebounds, and three assists in the game.
