Women’s Basketball Extends MASCAC Regular Season Winning Streak to 20 Straight in Win at Fitchburg

Framingham Mass The Framingham State University women's basketball team defeated host Fitchburg State Monday evening by a score of 91-37 in MASCAC action. The win extends the Rams MASCAC regular season winning streak to 20 games dating back to the 2018-19 season.

- Records:Framingham State (15-3, 7-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg State (2-14, 1-4 MASCAC)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

  • Rams senior Krysta Padellaro led all scorers with 18 points going 6-for-9 from the field. Sophomore Flannery O'Connor picked up a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds adding a steal and two blocks. Katty Haidul pitched in eight points with a game-high 17 rebounds and Gwendolyn Carpenter led all players with 8 assists. Camille Desrochers added 11 points while Krystalee Fernandez and Kelsey Yelle each added ten points off the bench for the Rams. 

  • Olivia Almeida paced the Falcons with 9 points and 3 rebounds while Lovashia Rosario finished with 7 points and a steal.   

  • Framingham State shot 30-for-66 (45.5%) from the field and (6-for-15) 40% from three-point range 

  • Fitchburg State finished 10-for-57 (17.5%) overall and (4-for29) 13.8% for beyond the arc 

  • Framingham State held a 61-26 advantage on the boards 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • After trading baskets early, the Rams broke off a 15-0 run with six of the points coming from Haidul to take an early 21-6 lead.  

  • The Rams outscored the Falcons 21-to-2 in the second quarter featuring another 15-0 to send the teams into the half with the Rams up 48-10 and they wouldn't look back.

  • The Rams return to the court on Wednesday when they travel to Westfield State for a 5:30pm matchup
