Five Players Tally Double Figures as Women's Basketball Topples Bridgewater State 78-54

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

• Gwendolyn Carpenter led all scorers with a game-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. 

• Flannery O'Connor recorded her third double double of the week and fifth straight for the Rams as she tallied 18 points and grabbed a game-high 17 boards. 

• Krysta Padellaro also tallied 18 points for the Rams on 7-of-14 from the field to go along with six rebounds, two assists and three steals. 

• Camille Desrochers chipped in with 12 points for the Rams on 4-of-9 from behind the arc, while Katty Haidul finished the game just shy of a double double with 11 points and nine boards. 

• The Bears received 10 points from Olivia Dziadyk who connected on 5-of-6 from the floor and added two assists. 

• Arielle Cleveland chipped in with 10 pooints off the bench for the Bears. She connected on 5-of-9 from the floor and added five boards.  

• Kylie Grassi added eight points and seven boards with a block for the Bears. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• In the opening quarter the Rams used a 9-0 run capped by an O'Connor bucket to take a 14-4 lead with just under two minutes remaining in the period. Bridgewater answered with six straight points to close the quarter and cut the gap to 14-10. 

• A Desrochers three pushed the lead to 17-10 in the opening minutes of the second, but Bridgewater received layups from Eryn Rice and Maggie Hester closing the gap to three, 17-14, with 7:39 on the clock. 

• The Rams pushed the lead back to eight before a Hester jumper closed the gap to four with 3:28 on the clock. 

• The Rams closed the half scoring the final six points including four from Padellaro to take a 30-20 lead into the locker room. 

• Bridgewater cut the deficit to nine in the early minutes of the third before the Rams used a 15-4 run to take a 49-29 lead with just under five to play in the quarter. The Rams pushed the lead to 24 on a Carpenter three with just under three on the clock before closing the third leading 56-35. 

• The Rams took their largest lead of the game, 61-35, on a Desrochers three with 8:26 on the clock in the fourth quarter and maintained the sizable lead throughout the remainder of the game.
