Big Second Quarter Pushes Babson by Women’s Basketball

Babson Park, Mass  The Babson College women's basketball team outscored the visiting Framingham State Rams 20-to-9 in the second quarter en route to a 71-52 victory in the final game of the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Women's Basketball Tournament. 

THE BASICS:

- Location: Staake Gymnasium – Babson Park, Mass.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Babson's Megan Bauman scored a game-high 20 points with five boards and seven helpers. Madison Odam added a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Camilla Silk tallied 15 points with nine boards.  

  • The Rams were again led by Flannery O'Connor who posted 18 points with eight boards and four rejections. Katty Haidul added 14 points with 8 rebounds and Gwendolyn Carpenter pitched in ten points with six assists.  

 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • After back-and-forth action in the opening frame the two teams found the game tied at fifteen after a Haidul layup with just over a minute to play in the first. The Beavers would then break off a 20-to-5 stretch over the next nine minutes and would send the teams into the break with the Rams trailing 39-24.  

  • Framingham State battled hard through the second half but would not be able to cut the deficit to less than 13.  

 

UP NEXT: 

  • The Rams scheduled MASCAC opener for Wednesday, January 5th at Bridgewater State has been rescheduled for Monday, January 17th. The Rams will open up MASCAC action when they host Westfield State on Saturday, January 8th when they host Westfield State.
