Women's Basketball Closes Semester with 55-42 Win over Regis

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

• Katty Haidul paced the Rams on the offensive end with a team-high 14 points to go along with seven rebounds and two steals. 

• Flannery O'Connor finished the game just shy of a double double with 10 points, eight boards and a block. 

• Krysta Padellaro finished the game with nine points, five boards, two assists and six steals, while Gwendolyn Carpenter tallied eight points with three rebounds and six assists. 

• The Pride were led by a game-high 16 points from Courtney Doherty.  Doherty added two boards and three assists with a steal. 

• Valerie Whalen tallied 11 points and grabbed a game-best 14 boards off the bench for Regis to record the game's only double double. 

• The Rams shot 38% from the floor for the game while the Pride shot 28% including going 0-for-7 in the decisive second quarter. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• In the first quarter, Regis jumped out to an 8-2 lead on a three by Shannon Kelley with 6:30 on the clock. 

• The Rams used a run of their own to tie the game at 12-12 on a Haidul bucket with just under three remaining, but a Whalen layup gave the Pride a 14-12 lead after one quarter. 

• After going nearly six minutes without a field to end the first quarter and start the second, the Rams outscored the Pride 15-2 in the second quarter to take a 27-16 lead at the half.  

• Kelsey Yelle broke the scoring drought for the Rams with a layup and Gwendolyn Carpenter gave the Rams their first lead of the game 16-15 on a drive midway through the second. 

• The Rams extended the lead to 15 to begin the third quarter before Regis trimmed the deficit to 11 midway through the frame. 

• The Rams maintained the double-digit lead throughout the third quarter and a three from Rai Edwards-Thomas put the Rams up 47-26 after three.
