O’Connor Selected to NEWBA All-Rookie Team
Framingham, Mass. – Freshman forward Flannery O'Connor (Amesbury, Mass.) has been selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) All-Rookie 1st Team. Nominations for NEWBA awards and All-Region were submitted by both coaches and sports information directors in the region, and selections were made based on a vote of the coaches.
O'Connor was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Year and 2nd Team All-MASCAC after helping the Rams to a 22-6 record and the 2019-20 MASCAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
O'Connor led the Rams in shooting percentage with a 56 percent clip scoring 13.8 points per game. The freshman collected 8.3 rebounds per game while adding 47 blocked shots, 20 steals and 34 helpers in a standout first season for the Rams.
