O’Day & O’Connor Sweep MASCAC Weekly Awards

Framingham, Mass.- Framingham State senior Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week and freshman Flannery O'Connor (Amesbury, Mass.) has been named MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 12th.

O'Day averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and four assists in a 1-1 week for the Rams. She scored 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting (53%) from the floor and 4-of-6 (67%) from three-point range with 10 rebounds and five assists in the 101-91 win over Westfield State. O'Day tallied 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists in the 59-53 setback to Emerson College.

O'Connor, who picks up her fourth rookie of the week honor, averaged 17 points, nine boards, 1.5 blocks and an assist in a 1-1 week for the Rams. She scored a career-best 30 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the floor (65%) with 16 rebounds, a block and assist in the 101-91 win over Westfield State. The freshman added four points, two rebounds, two blocks, an assist and steal in the 59-53 setback to Emerson College.
