Women’s Basketball Falls to Hamilton
Northfield, VT.—The Hamilton College women's basketball team defeated Framingham State by a score of 70-60 Friday evening in the opening round of the Ed Hockenbury Classic hosted by Norwich.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The second game of the day between Hamilton and Framingham State was tight end-to-end, with Hamilton pulling away towards the end to come away with the victory over the Rams.
- It was a one-point game late in the fourth quarter, but back-to-back threes from Halie Serbent and Carly O'Hern opened the Hamilton lead to 61-54 with barely two minutes remaining.
- Scout Lansing hit a pair of free throws to seal the 70-60 victory, as Hamilton advanced to the championship game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Hamilton did an exceptional job of spreading the offensive wealth around, as four different players reached double-digit point totals. Serbent led the way with a game-high 17 on 6-10 shooting along with eight rebounds and a pair of assists.
- Elizabeth Arnold went 4-5 from the field and 2-2 from three to total 14 points while also collecting nine rebounds.
- As a team, the Continentals shot a robust 42.4% from the field on the evening.
- Emily Velozo (Tewksbury, Mass.) was the driving force for the Rams, with a game-high 20 points on 9-of-18 shooting.
- Tiphani Harris (Revere, Mass.) led everyone with 12 rebounds on the night, while Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) totaled 12 points and three rebounds.
