Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's basketball team has been slated to finish second in the league in the 2018-19 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) preseason poll in voting conducted by the league's coaches.

The Rams earned 29 points in the poll in securing the second spot and return a pair of All-MASCAC performers from a year ago.  Junior Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.), the reigning MASCAC Player of the Year, looks to repeat on the success of her sophomore season that saw her lead the league in scoring at 18.5 points per game.  Senior Tiphani Harris (Revere, Mass.), a second team selection a year ago, averaged a double double in 2017-18 of 10.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

The 2017-18 MASCAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions Westfield State University are the preseason pick to claim the 2018-19 MASCAC Title receiving six first place votes and 36 total points.  Claiming the third spot with the remaining first place vote and 27 points is Worcester State University. In the fourth spot is Bridgewater State University with 20 points.  In fifth and sixth just a point apart are Fitchburg State and Salem State with 15 and 14 points and rounding out the poll in seventh is MCLA with six points.

The Rams open the 2018-19 season on Friday at Curry College.
