Women’s Basketball Earns Second Seed in MASCAC Tournament

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State women's basketball team has finished second in regular season play and earned the #2 seed in 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Tournament. The Rams receive a first-round bye and will host the tournament's semi-final round on Thursday, February 22nd at 6:00pm. They will face the winner of the first-round match up of third seeded Bridgewater State and sixth seed Fitchburg State.

The Rams finished regular season play with a 9-3 record in conference action. Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) led the conference in points per game with 18.6 and total points 428. She was second in three-point percentage at 34.8. She also netted 151 rebounds, 50 assists and 29 steals.

Westfield State is the #1 seed and will host the winner of #4 Worcester and #5 Salem on the other side of the bracket. The two semi-final winners will play on Saturday, February 24th at the highest remaining seed.
