Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's basketball team has earned the second seed in the upcoming Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Championship Tournament.

The Rams concluded the regular season with a school record 20 victories as they went 20-4 overall and 10-2 in the MASCAC.  As the second seed the Rams earn a first round bye and will host a semifinal game on Thursday, February 23rd at the Athletic Center at 6 p.m.  The Rams will host the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal matchup between third seed Worcester State University and sixth seed MCLA.

The Rams were led offensively this season by junior Raegan Mulherin (Baldwinville, Mass.) and senior Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.). Mulherin averaged 13.8 points per game to go along with three assists and four boards per contest.  Rackliffe averaged a double double in her final season with the Rams tallying 13.1 points per game and 10.5 rebounds while averaging a league best 3.2 blocks per game.  Junior Quinn O'Connell (Sterling, Mass.) averaged 10.2 points per game for the Rams, while classmate Lauren Donahue (Attleboro, Mass.) led the league with 5.0 assists per game.

The tournament field is rounded out by fourth seed Bridgewater State University who hosts fifth seed Salem State University on Tuesday in the other quarterfinal.  The winner of that contest advances to face top seed Westfield State University on Thursday in the other semifinal.

The two semifinal winners will meet on Saturday at the highest remaining seed in the championship game. The winner of the championship game receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
