Paxton, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's basketball team received 17 points off the bench from freshman Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) as the Rams defeated Anna Maria College 87-56 this afternoon in non-conference action.
With the win, the Rams improve to 8-0 on the season, while the Amcats are now 2-5.
O'Day paced five Rams in double figures as she connected on 4-of-10 from the floor including 2-of-5 from behind the arc to go along with five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Junior Raegan Mulherin (Baldwinville, Mass.) chipped in 14 points and three assists. Juniors Lauren Donahue (Attleboro, Mass.) and Quinn O'Connell (Sterling, Mass.) and freshman Julia Sanborn (Dracut, Mass.) added 10 points apiece. Sanborn also added eight boards, while O'Connell had three steals.
Tied at 2-2 early in the first quarter, the Rams rattled off a 15-0 run to take control of the game and never looked back as they cruised to their eighth victory of the season.
The Rams are back in action at home on Tuesday night against MIT at 6 p.m.
