Bostic’s Career Day Leads Women’s Basketball Over Salem State on Senior Day

Framingham, Mass.- Senior guard Nicole Bostic (Easton/ Oliver Ames) scored a career-high 28 points on senior day to charge the Rams past Salem State in MASCAC action on Saturday in Framingham. With the victory the Rams move to 15-7 (7-4 MASCAC) and are on a modest four game winning streak. The Vikings fall to 4-18 (2-8 MASCAC).

Prior to the game Framingham State University honored their three seniors Bostic, Johanna Annunziata (Auburn/ Miller) and Margo McCarthy (Southampton/ Hampshire).

Bostic led all scorers on her career day scoring 28 points and adding nine rebounds. Sophomore Sarah Palace (Auburn) added 12 points and 9 boards while freshman Lauren Donahue (Attleboro/ Bishop Feehan) added 8 points, 6 assists and 5 steals.

Senior Rachel Carter (Merrimack, NH) collected a double-double with 19 points and a game-high 11 boards. Freshman Savanah Spinney (Everett) contributed 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Salem opened up the game scoring the first five points but the Rams answered with a 13-0 run of their own featuring 7 points from Palace. The Rams held the lead for remainder of the half entering the break leading 30-26.

The Vikings tied the game early in the second stanza when Spinny made a basket to knot the game at 32, the Rams answered with a basket of their own and Spinny again tied the game to make it 34-34. The Rams answered with a 14-4 run capped off by a Donahue trey. Salem was able to cut the lead to 5 points on two occasions but could not get any closer.

The Rams took advantage of the 25 Vikings turnovers scoring 32 of their 66 points off turnovers.

The Rams are off until Saturday when they travel to play Worcester State at 5:00pm on Saturday, February 21st. The game will be played at Clark University. The Vikings to the floor when they travel to Bridgewater State on Tuesday, February 17th
