Bostic Leads Women’s Basketball to Win Over MCLA

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State University Rams women's basketball team defeated conference foe MCLA in MASCAC action Saturday afternoon in Framingham. The Rams are now 10-4 and 2-2 in conference play. The Trailblazers drop to 6-9 and 0-4 in the league.

The two teams traded the lead back and forth in the 1st half but the Rams went into the half with a 36-33 lead. Senior Nicole Bostic (Easton/ Oliver Ames) scored 17 points including hitting 3-of-5 from long range in the first half, Bostic finished with a game high 19 points. Sophomore Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills/ Agwam) registered a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards with 5 blocked shots.

Kayla Hotaling (Ravena, NY/ Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) and Courtney McLaughlin (Pittsfield) both put up a team high 13 points in the loss. McLaughlin registered a double-double adding a game high 11 rebounds to her 13 points.

The Rams came out of the break on fire going on a 15-3 run over the first five minutes of the half capped by a Monta Connolly (Lynn/ Lynn Classical) basket to push their lead to 51-36 and the Rams never looked back.

Both teams were 14-for-32 from the field in the first half but the Rams held the Trailblazers to 4-of-22 from the floor in the second stanza. The Rams were 27-of-62 from the field and 7-of-17 from beyond the arc for the game.

The Rams return to action when they travel to Salem State on Tuesday, January 20th. The Trailblazers return to action on Thursday, January 22nd when they host Springfield College.
