Framingham, MA- Eastern Connecticut State University guard Kristina Forsman (Newington, Conn.) scored 21 points to pace the Warriors to a 74-47 victory over Framingham State in the championship game of the Eastern Connecticut University Tip-off Tournament. The Warriors improve to 2-0 and the Rams even up at 1-1.
Eastern had five players score in double figures in points. Forsman scored 21, Jordyn Nappi (Southington, Conn.) scored 14, Julia DePoi (Brookfield, Conn.) scored 12 while Erin Brooks (Billerica, Mass.) and Shannon McCourt (New Fairfield, Conn.) registerd double-doubles with 11 points and 10 rebounds and 12 points and eleven boards, respectively.
Framingham was led by sophomore Monta Connolly (Lynn, Mass.) with 10 points and 6 rebounds to go along with 3 steals.
The Warriors were 25/66 (37.9%) from the floor while the Rams were 17/62 (27.4%).
Connolly and senior Margo McCarthy (Southampton, Mass.) were named to the all-tournament team.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday, November 18th as they host Eastern Nazarene in the Rams' home opener at 6 p.m.
