Women's Basketball Defeats Worcester State 55-53

Worcester, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's basketball team rallied from a nine point deficit midway through the second half to defeat the host Worcester State Lancers 55-53 in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's basketball contest this afternoon in Worcester. With the victory the Rams improve to 1-2 in the MASCAC and 9-6 overall, while the loss drops the Lancers to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in conference.            

Freshman guard Kristen Hoffman (Foxboro, Mass.) led the Rams with 16 points on 4-of-11 shooting from the field and 2-of-5 shooting from behind the arc.  Sophomore Patrecia Bradshaw (Cambridge, Mass.) chipped in a career and season-high 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field to go along with three boards and three blocks.  Classmate Kia Minor (Edgartown, Mass.) added nine points and seven rebounds, while Michelle Hagerty (Somerville, Mass.) added six points and seven boards.

The Lancers were led by Meaghan Burns who scored 16 points and grabbed six boards, while Meaghan O'Keefe added 12 points and six boards.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday as they host Salem State at 5:30 p.m.
