Babson Cruises to Easy Win Over Women's Basketball

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State College women's basketball team was defeated at home tonight 71-36 by the visiting Beavers of Babson College. The Beavers improve to 2-6 on the season with the win, while the Rams slide to 1-4.

The Beavers outscored the Rams 20-4 in the opening seven minutes of the second half to blow open the game and cruise to the win.  The Beavers defense held the Rams to just 20% shooting from the floor for the game and forced the Rams to commit 33 turnovers.  Despite committing 26 turnovers themselves, the Beavers outscored the Rams 41-16 in the second half and held the Rams to just 18% shooting from the field in the final twenty minutes.

Senior forward Nicole McManus (Baldwinsville, NY) paced the Beavers with a game-high 16 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the field, while senior guard Caitlin Fenn (Niantic, CT) added 10 points.  Senior forward Lindsay Poulson (Leominster, MA) finished with a game-high 14 rebounds.

On a night where the Rams struggled offensively, sophomore Taryn DiFilippo (Revere, MA) led the Rams with six points.

The Rams return to action this Saturday as they host Suffolk University at 1 p.m., while the Beavers play Drew University on January 4th in the opening round of the Williams Holiday Classic.
