Cadena Named MASCAC Player and Rookie of the Week

Framingham, MA – Freshman outfield Marina Cadena (Chelmsford, Mass.) has been selected the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 17th.     

Cadena earns player and rookie of the week after batting .500 (10-for-20) with three home runs and 11 RBI in a 3-3 week for the Rams. Cadena picked up at least one hit in every game and drove in runs in 5-of-6 of the Rams games this week. She went 3-for-3 picking up her first collegiate home run with two RBi in a 7-2 win over Smith. Later that day, Cadena went 3-for-3 with two homers and five RBI in a win over Brockport. Drove in the game winning runs in the 3-2 win over Buffalo State.
