Softball Lands Five on All-MASCAC Team

Framingham, Mass.- Framingham State junior pitcher Ally Moran and freshman utility player Brooke Grassia been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference First Team while senior Camille Desrochers, sophomore Mercedes Jimenez and freshman Shelby Roode have received second-team honors as voted on by the coaches around the league.  

Moran who was a 1st Team All-MASCAC selection in 2021, followed up with a stellar 2022 campaign posting 13 wins, with a league best 2.21 ERA with 101 strikeouts and just 44 walks in 139.2 innings of work. Moran posted a 7-2 record with an ERA of just 1.05 in league play this season.  

Grassia earns 1st Team accolades after splitting time between the outfield and second base this season. The freshman posted a .327 batting average with four doubles, a homer, 16 RBI and scoring 26 runs in her first season with the Rams. 

Desrochers earns her fourth All-MASCAC selection after posting a .307 average and a .428 OBP slugging 10 doubles, three homers, driving in 16 runs and scoring 34 while leading the league with 21 walks. During the season she broke the program career doubles record and is currently tied for the program career homerun record.  

Jimenez earns 2nd Team honors at third base after posting a .295 average with seven doubles, two homers and 18 RBIs. In MASCAC play, Jimenez hit .400 with five doubles, a homer, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored.  

Roode joins her teammates on the second team after a very strong freshman campaign. She hit .372 leading the Rams with 45 hits and 11 doubles while also driving in 16 and scoring 17 runs.  

The 2022 Rams sit at 23-17 and captured their fourth MASCAC title in five seasons on Sunday. They will travel to Salisbury, Maryland to face #4 Salisbury in the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 13th
