Softball Lands Five on 2021 All-MASCAC Teams

Framingham, Mass. – The 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Regular Season Champion Framingham State University softball team landed five players on the 2021 MASCAC All-Conference Teams in voting conducted by the league's coaches and announced by the conference office this morning.  

Sophomore pitcher Ally Moran (Wilmington, Mass.), senior third baseman Kirsten Dick (Tewksbury, Mass.) and junior short stop Camille Desrochers (Westford, Mass.) were selected to the first team, while sophomore pitcher Shannon Ward (Newport, RI) and sophomore outfielder Grace Swanson (Lincoln, RI) were voted to the second team.

Desrochers earns her third All-MASCAC selection honors after finishing the 2021 season batting .277 with a .960 fielding percentage.  Desrochers tied for the season lead in home runs in the MASCAC with five and added six doubles, a triple and drove in 19 with a .385 OBP.

Dick, a first team selection in 2019, finished her final season with the Rams batting .330 with 33 hits, six doubles, three triples, four homers and 26 RBI. Dick ranked first in the league in RBI and tied for fourth in home runs and hits.

Moran earns her first all-conference honors after an outstanding rookie season.  Moran finished the year 13-3 in the circle with an ERA of 1.62.  Moran tossed a league high 120.2 innings with 10 complete games, two saves and 94 strikeouts. Moran finished the year second in the league in ERA, tied for second in wins, tied for first in saves and second in strikeouts.

Ward also earns her first all-conference honors and was equally solid in the circle during her rookie season. Ward finished the season 13-4 with a 1.60 ERA, 10 complete games and two saves. Ward tossed 96.1 innings with 93 strikeouts.  Ward narrowly edged Moran to lead the league in ERA and was tied with Moran for the conference lead in saves and second in wins on the season.  Ward finished the league third in strikeouts and innings pitched.

Swanson earns her first All-MASCAC honors after hitting .311 with 33 hits including four doubles, a triple, 11 RBI and 11 stolen bases.  Swanson finished the season second in the MASCAC in stolen bases and tied for fourth in hits.

The Rams finished the 2021 season with a 29-8 record including a perfect 10-0 mark in league play. The Rams were the 2021 MASCAC Regular Season Champions and were defeated in game three of the MASCAC Championship Series by Bridgewater State.
