Babson Quiets Softball; Snap Rams 10 Game Win Streak
Babson Park, Mass.- Babson pitchers Brooke Stock (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Katie Gademsky (Hillsborough, N.J.) tossed back-to-back shutouts, and classmate Jacqueline Paul (Burlington, N.J.) drove in two runs in each game as Babson College swept visiting Framingham State University in a non-conference softball doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The Beavers took the opener 4-0 and defeated the Rams 7-0 in game two.
Winners of six in a row, Babson improves to 18-10 on the year, while Framingham State saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end and is now 17-13 overall.

GAME 1:
Stock struck out 10 and allowed just three hits, while Paul and first-year Isabel Aguilar (Avon, Conn.) drove in two runs apiece for the Beavers. Stock, who improved to 9-5 with the win, recorded her team-leading third shutout of the spring in the victory.
First-year Farrah Adam (West Springfield, Mass.) finished with a pair of singles, while senior Kelsi Gunarathne (North Providence, R.I.) fell to 10-7 with the complete-game loss after allowing three earned runs on five hits.
The Green and White did all of its damage in the third as junior Kayla Schinik (Watchung, N.J.) singled, senior Josephine Mares(Houston, Texas) reached on an error and classmate Ashley Tango (Reading, Mass.) walked to load the bases with one out. Paul ripped a single down the right field line to make it 2-0, and Aguilar followed with another two-run base hit to center to extend the Beavers' margin to 4-0.
The four-run cushion was more than enough for Stock, who gave up a leadoff single to Adam in the second and then retired 17 consecutive hitters before Adam reached with a two-out knock in the seventh.
GAME 2:
Gademsky tossed her second career shutout and first of the season allowing five hits while striking out three to improve to 9-4 on the year with the win. Paul was 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBI, while junior Tori Roche (Andover, Mass.) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Beavers.
Sophomore Grace Caughey (Mendon, Mass.) allowed five earned runs on four hits and seven walks in 2.1 innings to drop to 4-6 on the season for the Rams. Classmate Marissa Vellucci (Tyngsboro, Mass.) gave up just one run on four hits in 3.2 innings of relief.
Mares gave the Green and White a 1-0 lead in the first when she scored on a throwing error, and Paul drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-0 in the second. After stranding five runners over the first two frames, Babson busted the game open with a five-run third.
Roche, Mares, junior Annie Mitchell (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Paul all produced RBI singles in the inning as the Beavers pounded out six hits and sent nine batters to the plate to build a 7-0 advantage. Gademsky retired nine straight batters before Caughey singled to right with two outs in the sixth, and worked out of a first-and-third one-out jam in the seventh with a strikeout and a ground out to finish off the shutout.

Both teams return to action on Friday as Babson travels to Springfield for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m., while Framingham State hosts Bridgewater for two starting at 12 p.m.
