Gunarathne Named MASCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

Framingham, Mass. – Junior pitcher Kelsi Gunarathne (Providence, RI) has been selected the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 29^th.          

Gunarathne earns her fifth pitcher of the week honor this season after going 2-0 on the week with a 0.88 ERA and allowed just two earned runs on 11 hits in 16 innings of work with 18 strikeouts.  Gunarathne tossed a complete game allowing just one unearned run on four hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in a 3-1 victory over Salem State. She went nine innings allowing two earned runs on seven hits with 11 strikeouts and a walk in a 3-2 nine inning victory over Fitchburg State.
