Marchant and Caughey Earn MASCAC Weekly Softball Honors

Framingham, Mass. – Senior outfielder Dayna Marchant (East Bridgewater, Mass.) has been selected the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week and freshman Grace Caughey (Mendon, Mass.) has been selected the MASCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 8th.       

Marchant earns her second player of the week honor this season after batting .800 with a double, two triples, two RBI, two walks and six runs scored with a 1.300 slugging percentage and .857 on-base percentage in a 1-3 week for the Rams.  Marchant went five-for-six with a double, triple, two RBI, three runs scored and walk in a doubleheader split with Westfield State.  She went three-for-four with a triple, two walks and three runs scored in a doubleheader against UMass Boston.

Caughey earns her first pitcher of the week nod after making three appearances with a 3.82 ERA and a 1-1 record on the week.  Caughey tossed a complete game shutout in the Rams 2-0 game two victory over Westfield State.  She went seven innings and allowed just three hits with three strikeouts.
