Gunarathne Named ECAC New England Softball Pitcher of the Week

Framingham, Mass. – Sophomore Kelsi Gunarathne (North Providence, RI) has been chosen the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 12^th.

Gunarathne, who was also named the MASCAC Pitcher of the Week, went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA allowing just seven hits with nine strikeouts in 12 innings of work.  Gunarathne tossed a complete game in the Rams 2-0 shutout victory over Brandeis allowing just three hits with five strikeouts.  She closed the week with a complete game five-inning victory over FDU-Florham allowing just two unearned runs on four hits with four strikeouts.
