SUNY Geneseo
Minneola, Fla. – The Framingham State University softball team split a pair of game this morning at The Spring Games. The Rams defeated Minnesota-Morris 6-1 in their first game of the day before falling to SUNY Geneseo 6-1 in the second.
After the split, the Rams are now 3-2 on the season.
The Rams cruised to the 6-1 victory against Minnesota-Morris.
In the day's second game, the Rams surrendered six runs to Geneseo in the bottom of the sixth inning to break open a scoreless game. Alyssa Persich doubled and drove in three runs in the inning for Geneseo.
The Rams tallied a lone run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI base hit from junior Megan Downing (Hanson, Mass.).
Junior Dayna Marchant (East Bridgewater, Mass.) went 2-for-4 with a double, while freshman Mycala Moody (North Attleboro, Mass.) also recorded a pair of hits.
Junior Jessica Pietersen (Norton, Mass.) took the loss in the circle going six innings and allowing six runs, three earned, on five hits with eight strikeouts and a walk.
The Rams are back on field tomorrow when they face Emory & Henry at 9 a.m. and Rutgers-Newark at 1 p.m.
