Men’s Soccer Takes Down Bucs in MASCAC Action

Buzzard's Bay, Mass. The Framingham State men's soccer the game's first three goals en route to a 3-1 win over Mass Maritime in MASCAC action Friday evening in Buzzard's Bay.  

THE BASICS: 

- Score:  Framingham State 3, Mass Maritime 1 

- Records:Framingham State (7-7-1, 3-3 MASCAC), Mass Maritime (2-10, 0-5-1 MASCAC) 

- Location: Clean Harbor's Stadium Buzzard's Bay, Mass. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:   

  • Jeffson Malachie scored his first goal of the season in the win that went on to be the game winner. 

  • Kunphel Sinha scored his fourth goal of the season and Arthur Santos Da Silva scored his first of the season in the match. 

  • Goalkeeper Matheus Rodriguez made six saves and allowed the Calvert goal. 

  • In total, Framingham took 17 shots, seven on target and had two corners in the victory. 

  • Bucs goalkeeper Kaden Winter made four saves and allowed three goals. 

  • In total, Maritime took 19 shots, seven on target, and earned nine corner kicks that all came in the second half. 

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • In the 26th minute, Sinha scored to put the Rams on the board and give them a 1-0 lead. The first half ended with Framingham leading 1-0. 

  • In the second half, much like the first half, both teams took their chances, especially the Bucs with 15 shots in the second 45 minutes.  

  • It took more than 30 minutes, but the Rams eventually extended their lead to 2-0 on Malachie's first score of the season from Santos Da Silva. Santos Da Silva got a shot off that went off Winter and right to the foot of Malachie and he dribbled in to score. 

  • In the 84th, on a misplay by the Buccaneers defense, Santos Da Silva recorded his first goal of the season to give the Rams a 3-0 advantage.  

  • The Bucs didn't go away, continuing to attack up the middle. In the 86th minute, a Buccaneer was taken down in the box and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Calvert stepped up and buried his 10th goal of the season to make the score 3-1. 

  • Framingham held on for the last five minutes and earned the 3-1 conference win over Maritime.
